Last month at my craft and chat group the challenge was autumn colours, and this was one of my cards for that challenge. I used Kaisercraft Sage and Grace papers for the background, and a memory box die for the leaves, and Stampin Up Botanical Blooms dies for the flowers. The centres of the flowers are liquid pearls. I had a great day in the craft room yesterday and have designed half the lessons I need for the cruise classes. My son flies back to Sydney later today, it’s been lovely spending the week with him, and we had a great night last night joining a Ghost Tour of our old Adelaide Gaol with my 2 sisters, and nephew as well. I found the history and stories interesting, but no ghostly visits, although my 2 sisters would beg to differ with a very cold breath being blown in their faces and my sisters coat button dropping off and causing great consternation in the group! A fun way to pass a couple of hours and learn more about our city at the same time.Today I will spend just a little time in the craft room while inspiration is high and continue the cruise cards as the drafts have be submiited in a week or so. til tomorrow…..

Bo Bunny Serendipity..
I have only made the one card with this paper collection so far, as I have been distracted with new toys. It is a gorgeous paper range with lots of birds and lovely colours, but this card uses one of the card fronts with the butterfly. There were two images of the butterfly so I fussy cut the second one and popped it on top of the first. I had very good news this morning..I am teaching card making on a cruise to Tasmania in February. I taught on this cruise this year and thoroughly enjoyed the experience, so I was thrilled when the cruise company asked if I would be interested again this season. Over the next few weeks I will be organising my classes for that. My sister will come along to lend a helping hand and will be a big help getting everything ready.Meantime, I have a few projects on the go in the craft room, so will clear those this weekend if I get the chance! Stampin Up High Tide
The first male themed card in my very short mens card series is this one, made using the Stampin Up Stamp set called High Tide. There are a lot of stamps in this set, and you can mix and match to make sceneries such as the one I did here. I stamped the sand first, then the lighthouse ( a darker shade of ink pad for the lighthouse), then the sea,( two shades of ink pad here too), the wisps of grass, wading birds,and gulls to finish. The cardstock was the same stampin up shades as the various inks. I look forward to making more scenes with this stamp set. Yesterday was card order day, and I had a lot of floral cards to make so I got out my scrap cardstock, and various flower and foliage dies and spent a couple of hours just die cutting. Once that was done the cards came together very quickly and I have a lot of die cut flowers left,so this week in between work I will make up some more to have ready for the next order!Til tomorrow….
Kaisercraft indigo skies picture frame
I had some photo frames in my cupboard, just waiting for the right papers, and as soon as I saw this collection ( Kaisercraft Indigo skies) I knew this was the time to get them out of the cupboard. I used a piece of the 12 x 12 paper for the background and fussy cut a few butterflies to put in the frame. I only glued them by the centres, so that I could fold their wings up.On the left hand frame I added some lace, and leaves, but the one on the right was left a little simpler. There is a die cut flourish on both of them die cut with a Paper Roses die. I hope you enjoy looking at something a bit different from my usual cards! Til tomorrow….
Vertical Greetings
Today’s card was a quick and easy card of layering and stamping. I used a stamp set from Stampin Up called Vertical garden, and stamped the greeting and topiary tree straight onto the cardstock. I stamped the pot again on a scrap of paper, fussy cut and popped it over the top of the green stamped pot with 3d foam squares. I am thinking of doing a similar design for one of my cruise cards…I spent a lovely afternoon yesterday in the craft room, but today we are going out and about for a drive out of the city to see the autumn colours..til tomorrow….
Yesterday – Indigo Skies on the craft table..
One of Kaisercraft’s new ranges this month is called Indigo Skies. Lots of blues and greys in this range, but because I had picked up so much of the other release ( High Tea) I only chose 3 sheets of this range because I knew I wouldn’t get the time to use it all. Anyway, I sat down with my 3 sheets and made 4 cards, also 2 cards with matching decorated boxes, and decorated these two frames. I will get Nathan to photo the rest properly, but I wanted to share my frames straight away. The butterflies are fussy cut from one of the Indigo Skies 12 x 12 sheets ( one full sheet of gorgeous butterflies to fussy cut..this sheet formed the basis for all my makes) and the background is from another sheet of the same range. Everything else – frames ( free with a magazine years ago),flowers,lace, pretty die cuts,lace and pearls string were all found in a rummage through my craft room. Today I must make a birthday card for my son Daniel so that I can get it in the post, and I have a lesson half completed on my desk which I will finish . Til tomorrow…..
Kaisercraft Cherry Tree lane 12 and 13…
Yes we are back to Kaisercraft Cherry Tree lane and these are two cards that I did for a lesson. The top card has and oval die cut from the front of the card, and the back ( or inner panel) is decorated so that the bird panel ( from a piece of the 12 x 12 paper) shows through the die cut hole. The front panel is decorated with some fussy cut flowers and ribbon. The second card uses the oval we die cut from the first card – no waste here..with a stamped sentiment, some more fussy cutting and another ribbon bow. The backgroung layer was trimmed from a sheet of 12 x 12 paper, making sure I had the bird positioned where I wanted him. Nathan and I have spent this morning photo-ing my recent makes, and now I have to go and put inserts in all of them, a most tediuos job but it has to be done! til tomorrow…..
A die cut card..
I have playing around with my dies and mixing them up a bit – normally I like to keep the different companies separated…but I am going to bite the bullet and experiment! The simplest way for me to start now that I can finally use my die cutting machine is with different dies, so on this card have mixed Paper Rose flower and flourish dies with a memory keepers die and a kaisercraft ( butterfly) die. Pearls for a bit of bling and a stampin up sentiment.This one is going to be adapted to a class in the near future. Roast is in the oven, leek and potato soup on the oven, and now it’s craft time! til tomorrow….
Kaisercraft Ooh La La 15 and 16..
Two cards today, made with kaisercraft Ooh La La, and some white space.I don’t often leave white space on my cards, but I like these and will experiment with more white space cards in the future. There is a mixture of fussy cut images, and collectables on both cards, with a little ribbon, a lace flower and just a couple of flowers.I spent a lovely afternoon in the craft room yesterday, I did miss crafting while I was away.This afternoon I am popping in there to make Mum and Dad a 61st wedding anniversary card and I have been doing a little tidying as I go too.Til tomorrow….
All about my crafty trip today!
Hello! We are back safe and sound after a terrific cruise around Tasmania. The craft classes I ran went smoothly ( the same can’t be said of the first couple of days at sea which were very rough!) I met 80 lovely ladies while teaching my four classes, and we had great fun.The ship ( the Astor) was lovely, small by cruise ship standards with 640 guests.Instead of cards today I am going to pop up a few photos..This photo is me on our way to the trial evacuation with my life jacket, which we all had to come to grips with putting on.
The next 3 photos are Pt Arthur. the little orange dinghy was our tender boat from the cruise ship to dry land ( and it did take a little while to get our land legs working after 3 days at sea, we all looked like we had enjoyed the red wine a little too much!)
The next group of 3 photos are of Hobart.A view from Mt Nelson, and 2 gorgeous photos of the botanical gardens. I loved the gardens and could have spent all day exploring them. An hour isnt enough time there! I
will have to go back to see all of them.The last two photos are of Burnie,one coming into the dock and the other taken from the bus tour we did of the surrounding countryside, stopping at a chocolate factory ( lovely afternoon tea), cheese factory and winery.By getting on the bus tour we saw a lot of the surrounding country, and it was beautiful. There were pockets of dry fields as it is the end of summer, but lots of greenery too. So thats a bit of an overview of my trip, I hope the photos come out in the correct order!
