Kaisercraft golden Grove 4 and 5

_MG_1974 (Medium)_MG_1980 (Medium)Two cards today because I have been missing for a few days, very busy at work putting out lots of new stock, and buying quite a bit of it! We are back to Kaisercraft golden Grove which was one of the ranges they released last month, and is full of lovely rich autumn colours. IThe top card is a card I made for my uncles Birthday, he is a gardener and I thought he would enjoy the imagery and colours reflected in his garden. It’s all 12 x 12 sheets from the range as well as the matching collectables. The lower card also uses pieces from  a 12 x 12 sheet, with a flower and butterflies fussy cut from one of the sheets as well. If you look closely you can see some little rain drops ( or dew drops) which I made using some clear Nuvo. I have been experimenting with Nuvo, it comes in a huge range of colours and is very much like Liquid pearls, but better value, larger colour range and holds the perfect dome shape better…can you tell I am a fan? It comes in metallic ,glitter ( much better than stickles), pearl and clear . I have also been trying to clean up the craft room, but that is not going so well, too many distractions! Til tomorrow….

Go Press and Foil Card

_MG_1970 (Medium) I have another couple of Go Press and Foil cards to show, so this one today.. I used a kaisercraft embossing folder for the frame ( I have since mastered foiling with my embossing folders so that will be coming soon!) and foiled a todo sentiment stamp made especially for the foiling machine, trimmed it to fit into the frame, and added Green tara flowers, and a foiled chipboard butterfly. the greenery were die cuts on my desk, I have got into the habit when I am diecutting greenery and flourishes to cut a few extra so that I don’t have to stop and dig out dies when I am on a making streak. I have started on my Christmas cards at last, with some lovely new Kaisercraft christmas paper called Christmas Jewel. It has amazing shades of purple and lilac, and silver and I wasn’t going to purchase, but these cards are making themselves, easy paper to work with! til tomorrow….

Kaisercraft Lilac Whisper number 2….

_MG_1965 (Medium)I used the same kaisercraft ornate die set on this card, with kaisercraft lilac whisper 12 x 12 papers and collectables. The resin frame is one I bought a few of and can’t get any more…shame, they are fantastic, and weigh very little so perfect for cards. Luckily I still have some left so you will see them pop up now and again on my cards. For the rest of the card just some flowers and a ribbon bow. Today I have spent some time experimenting with some new products, I like to keep abreast of the products we sell at the shop so that I can recommend with confidence so today I was playing with Nuvo embossing powder, and I was impressed, once heat embossed it looks like you have triple embossed it is so thick even though it is only one application. I tried it with a script stamp as well to see if you would lose the definition as it sems to be so thick but you can still see the script, so thats good. I feel this product warrants more testing with different colours! I also had some new dies, and some Prima Colour Bloom spray mists I was playing with, and of course in between doing some more Go Press and Foiling on some Christmas chipboard pieces, so lots of bits and pieces on my desk to turn into cards. Great fun! Til tomorrow….

Christmas cards started…2017…

_MG_9105 (Medium)_MG_9106 (Medium)Here are the other two cards I made for my group Christmas in July challenge..I hadn’t been out to the Craft room annex ( shed) for my Christmas stash so really used what was to hand in the craft room, and I had been making lessons with some Kaisercraft dies, and I always have a bit of glitter paper in the craft room.  The stitched oval is a Paper Rose die, and I die cut the bauble on the top card and foiled it through the Go Press and Foil machine as I was experimenting with that new toy at the time. The rest was just assorted bling on my desk. Its a lazy kind of afternoon this afternoon after a busy morning at work, and I am going to have a bit of a sit down with a good book today! Til tomorrow….

The last two Kaisercraft Cherry tree Lane cards

img_2736-mediumimg_2737-mediumThis is my last blog for a couple a weeks while I go on my Cruise. We leave tomorrow so today has been a mad rush to finish packing, and do some shopping for the menfolk ( they have their menu plan written out so they are quite organised!). Today is a good day to finish up with my Kaisercraft Cherry Tree Lane collection. I have enjoyed making with this collection and I do still have some left, so we will revisit it at some stage. The top card is layers of papers from the 6″ pad, with a collectable , lace, ribbon and a hat pin ( by Prima). the lower card  has a die cut Ornate circle ( paper rose) and a collectable. That’s all from me for now, see you all in 2 weeks!

Kaisercraft Cherry Tree Lane number 7..

img_2732-mediumWorking with the blue shades from the Kaisercraft Cherry Tree Lane collection,I came up with this one which uses some dies and punches to make the flower, and a very old button from my collection to highlight the tag. The papers are from the 6″ pad,and I have layered a couple of the pull apart tags inking around all the edges with Tea Dye distress ink.I spent a lovely hour over at Paper Flourish today, browsing, chatting and buying, I bought a few more copic markers as I am trying to build my collection, and picked up some lovely papers from Bo Bunny called Petal Lane ( gorgeous papers in shades of soft pink  and yellow with pops of black) and a new Kaisercraft 6″ paper pad called Hanami Garden which is a Japanese inspired collection. Now I am off to the craft room to create! Til tomorrow….

Another Pleating technique

img_3536-mediumAfter mastering the previous pleating technique, I stepped it up and tried aone that was a little more difficult. Lots of measuring on this one, but well worth the effort for the finished product.I am just hoping as I sit here that i have filed away the measurements! As the paper I used was so close to the background layer I inked the edges of the pleats to define it a little bit.The flowers I added were from Kaisercraft and i added a punched leaf and a ribbon bow to finish. The paper collection is Kaisercraft True Romance, and older release ,but one of my favourites.I have a really sore shoulder today, and not much use of my right arm, so I think the craft room is out of the question this weekend, looks like a reading weekend for relaxation! Til tomorrow…

Prima tea Thyme number 3

Todays card uses Prima Tea Thyme patterned papers, and a couple of dies – memory box la rue flourish, and Sizzix Tim Holtz caged bird. The bird I used in the cage is from a packet of Prima resist canvas. these are wonderful things! You can colour them to match your project, and when you do a pattern appears on the canvas! Wonderful! I just added some seam binding and bling to finish.I completed my special orders today, and am now back to Christmas cards. It’s back to work tomorrow so probably won’t get too much achieved in the craft room until the end of the week – til tomorrow….

Prima songbird number 9

Here we are Prima songbird papers number 9, I am ready to move on, but we are so close to finished with this series, that we will carry on. Here I have matted the main image onto Stampin up early espresso cardstock, the banner was fussy cut from one of the papers, and I finished it all off with some gorgeous lace and a bit of bling.I am still battling this fluey thing, but did venture into the craft room today as sitting up is better than lying down – too much coughing when I am lying down – and I have made a start on a rather large order that came through yesterday.Til tomorrow….

A new cuttlebug card

I bought a new die the other day – Cottage cutz whimsy bird and cage, and gave it a try out recently. The background paper and chipboard piece are Pink Paislee Spring Jubilee, and I ran various colours of bazil cardstock through the cuttlebug with the die to achieve all the colours needed to complete the card.So as you can imagine I have lots of bits and pieces left over in a little bag just waiting for when I need a green bird or a pink branch! Other than that I love this die – the pieces fall out of it very easily – and its good fun piecing it all together! Tonight is shopping night so I probably won,t be able to fit in a visit to the craft room, but I am off work tomorrow so will spend some time in there then. Til tomorrow….
