Decorated birdcage..something different.

Something different for a complete change! I thought I would show you a decorative birdcage that I made.I picked up the birdcage for a few dollars , and the bird inside for another few dollars. the rest of the decorations were odd bits and pieces I had in my craft room. I used some cipboard Twiddlybitz for the scrolls and leaves, and the flowers and resin bird are prima products. No project is complete without ribbon, and this lovely wide satin ribbon finished it off nicely! I took it over to show my Dad ,who is quite creative in his own right -(he paints mainly) and he kept it until I made him one of his own in tones of blue and yellow.I loved making this and have bought another birdcage to do another one!Maybe this time in pinks and purples.Today has been a day of completing projects, and now thats done I am ready to start again with a clean slate. til tomorrow…..
Sewing Box

Not a card today! My Niece turned 21 this weekend, and I made her a sewing box from a little box that a very generous friend gave me. I painted, and covered the box with papers, found some sewing themed die cuts to decorate, made little pockets to hold the needles and pins, added some thread, scissors, buttons, tape measure etc, and even found some cute little cotton reels which I painted gold for the feet.Added some money, and her present was organised – everyone should have the tools to sew on a lost button! Today I have been working on some teen girl cards, and sorted out my June classes. Tomorrow we will start a new group of cards, til then…..

Madison window die – Christmas…
Todays post is a Christmas card made with a poppystamps madison window die.I backed it with some acetate, and stuck some lace on the other side to mimic curtains. The brick wall was created with my tim Holtz bricked wall embossing folder which I inked before running through the cuttlebug. The tree stamp was free with a magazine, and I embossed it in gold on the right hand side card. I cut the grass with a poppystamps grasslands die, and added some bling to the tree to finish. All stampin Up nature card
Todays card is a favourite. I lean towards nature inspired cards when I am making cards just for fun, and this one is no exception. The designer paper is from Stampin up – it’s a retired collection, but I bought up big when it was available because I fell in love with it!Cardstock is stampin up early espresso and very vanilla, and I used my stampin up designer frames embossing folder and labels collection framelits. I punched out the centre of the embossed oval with an oval punch, and stamped an image from Stampin up organic grace stamp set to set behind the resulting frame.a little linen twine and a stamped and cut out butterfly finished off this one.I have completed a card order today, and now I am starting to organise my january classes, which will be here before I know it! Til tomorrow….
