Todays card is one I made with Prima poetic Rose. I have made more with this paper but they are waiting to be photoed! I had two layers, inked around with Frayed Burlap distress ink, and added some fussy cutting and ephemera on top. there is a little metal piece tucked in behind, and some little leaves die cut in gold foil. The two big flowers are from prima, and the smaller ones are from Iamroses. Lace and greeting to finish. Although I am retired now I still intend to teach cardmaking, so this week has been spent preparing lessons and finding a lesson venue. I am going to check one next week, so it won’t be long before I have an exciting announcement to make! So looking forward to getting back into the classroom! til tomorrow….
I have enjoyed making quite a few cards that fitted more comfortably into a box rather than an envelope. My photographer Nathan has chosen to photograph these ones in their box, so you may not see the full 3D’ness of them, but trust me they needed a box! the top card is made with Mintay Birdsong papers. I taught a class using this range of papers this week, it is gorgeous, and I am now tempted to again get my papers out and make some more cards with this range. I have used one of my handmade frames, and some lace, flowers and metal embellishment . The bottom card is Prima Georgia Blues, and there is a lot of gold foil on this range of papers which explains the flash on the photo..poor Nathan must have been blinded with that! You can see why this one needed a box – lots of lovely fabric and paper flowers, lace and emphemera. I hope you are all having a safe and happy Easter break, til next time…..
This week I have been making book cards. These are my new favourite thing to make ,but a word of warning …they use a lot of paper! I didn’t come up with this design, although I did modify it a little bit, one of our talented teachers at paper Flourish taught something similar this week to a group of ladies. I have also made boxes to pop the finished product in and decorated the box as well, and I have included in the box a die cut card stand to stand the book up on for display. now to the nitty gritty… there are 5 layers of card and paper, the bottom layer the card and then 4 layers of papers, getting smaller by a centimetre for each layer. I have done them in a shabby chic style so I distressed and inked all my edges with tea dye distress ink, once the papers are cut and inked I folded them in the centre and then bowed out the pages to curl them. I stuck the layers through the centre fold and put 3d mounting foam on the page edges . It was then just a matter of decoration with ribbon, flowers and various die cutting of leaves and flourishes!. The papers I have used here are from two companies – I have just discovered them and their papers are gorgeous so you will see more of them on my blog. they are Lemoncraft ( the papers here were from their range House of Roses, ) and Stamperia. The bottom photo gives you a better idea of the card upright. For now I am off to teach a retirement village calss, til tomorrow….
Todays card is a very simple one made with my Go Press and Foil machine to foil the Rose hot foil stamp ( couture Creations) in green foil, and then white cardstock for the rest. I dry embossed a piece of cardstock with a stampin up embossing folder, and Die cut a stitched oval ( Seven Paper Dolls die) One little white ribbon and this all occasion card is finished! I have a day off today and quite a bit of housework to catch up on, but I am sure I will find some spare time to unwind in the craft room…til tomorrow….
Today is Mum and dads 62nd wedding anniversary and the whole family is getting together to celebrate, so I thought it was fitting to post this card I made with Mambi happy 12 x 12 paper pad. I die cut the hearts from more paper of the same range, die cut some white greenery(!) with a seven paper dolls die, added a kaisercraft wooden piece that I had foiled with the go press and foil, and some flowers, rhinestones and ribbon bow to finish. I hope you are all having a happy and safe Easter. Til tomorrow…..
Todays card is one I taught yesterday in my class at Paper Flourish. It is a very simple one that doesn’t require a lot of product. I used two different sized fish tail dies ( kaisercraft) to make the shirt, and ran the larger piece through a Couture Creations pinstripe embossing folder. The bow tie was made with a template, but I do have a Stampin up punch that would have done the trick and you can also get dies ( I saw a paper rose one) that would also work.I just had to add three pearls to finish this quick and easy design.Quick post today as I can smell my cake baking in the oven – might be time to take it out! til tomorrow….
This is the last of my Boxed cards. I made the flower spray, added some black accents to tie in with the sentiment which is a collectable from the PS I love you collection from Kaisercraft.Again this is a card that could be used for wedding, engagement, valentines or anniversary. This weekend has been very busy, with very little time in the craft room, but i will be in there this afternoon as I have a class to set up, I am trying to get ahead with them as the cruise is only 2 and 1/2 weeks away and I won’t be crafting then ( teaching, but no crafting!)til tomorrow….
Another example of my handmade floral spray used on a card. The papers are Kaisercraft PS I love you,and the die is paper rose Ornate circle . I used a collectable doily ( from the paper collection) under the circle. This card could be used for wedding, engagement or anniversary..or even Valentines day!Quick post today as it’s awfully hot sitting here at the computer, I am going to find a nice spot under an airconditioning vent to sit and read a good book! til tomorrow….
While my shoulder was not good ( great day today as my Doctor has cleared me and I am back to normal!)to pass the time I made some flower bunches, and used them on cards only to realise after that they wouldn’t fit into envelopes so I made matching boxes for them. This one has a lovely wide piece of lace on it, the background paper is from kaisercraft PS I love you,and the die is Paper Roses Ornate circle. Just a quick one today, til tomorrow….
The collectables pack from the Prima Rossibelle collection had some wonderful bits and pieces in it, and the silver plaque and tag were the base for this card. The flowers were also Prima and I added some gold thread and a flat backed pearl. The papers were some random pieces that were in my stash and I used a bit of the silver textured one to die cut a heart. Today is a day off, so i have been busy in the kitchen experimenting with a chicken casserole – no recipe so hope it turns out alright – smells ok as its simmerimg, so hopefully I have succeeded! Now I am off to the craft room to make a start on 6 orders, and looking forward to relaxing! til tomorrow…
