Todays card is a gatefold card, inspired by the image of the door from the collectables pack from the same collection ( kaisercraft cottage rose). I used the mini foilage die from kaisercraft for the leaves, and the flowers are prima,and kaisercraft.the bottom photo is the inside of the card, and I inked all edges with tea dye distress ink. Last night I set up a facebook page under the name Helens card designs, mainly because more and more cards were finding their way onto my normal facebook page. I will still be blogging every day ( or most days) as this is the space that will have much more detailed information, and my musings, and meanderings! Kaisercraft Cottage Rose number 7…
I am enjoying this collection of paper because I have been able to make quite a range of cards with it, wedding, anniversary, engagement, sympathy and now birthday.Todays card uses the 6″ pad only, and a few embellishments – green tara and kaisercraft flower, leaves die cut from the kaisercraft mini foilage die ( love this die – its a plate, and die cuts quite a few different leaves all in one go – great for die cutting scraps and keeping them on my desk for times when I need them)some stampin up gold twine,liquid pearls and a butterfly punched from my tim Holtz butterfly punch. The sentiments were also in the paper pad! Today is a good day…I have done the cooking I wanted to do in preparation for next week, the sun is shining after a very wet week – not that we ever complain when we get rain, my washing is drying on the line,and I am ready to spend some quality time in the craft room! life is good!! til tomorrow….
Kaisercraft Cottage Rose 5 and 6…
The cards today are still in my Kaisercraft cottage rose series, this time a thinking of you card, and a birthday card.I kept the thinking of you card very simple, with just a punched butterfly and ribbon bow. the papers on both cards are from the 6″ pad in the collection, and the sentiments are also from the pad.For the birthday card I added some lace and ribbon,liquid pearls and another punched butterfly using my Tim holtz butterfly punch. I have done a marathon grocery shop today, I am working full time hours next week for stocktake, so I am planning to cook a lot of meals on the weekend to save some time during the week! In the meantime, if I miss a couple of posts next week you will all know why! til tomorrow…
Kaisercraft Cottage rose number 4….
I love this paper from the cottage rose range, and have an idea to use some of it to make a card shaped like a purse when I have it out next. In the meantime I have made and anniversary card, added a die cut sentiment, collectable heart, and prima and green tara flowers. I used some liquid pearls on the paper to highlight the quilted effect.These cards are all ear marked for the craft fair, which is only a couple of weeks away now, i can’t wait! love catching up with ladies who visit me from year to year, and of course checking out all the other craft stalls! til tomorrow….
Kaisercraft cottage Rose number 3
Todays card is and engagement card, using all the same bits and pieces as yesterday card, including kaisercraft Cottage Rose paper ( 6″ pad this time) , collectables, and occassions die. I also die cut a couple of hearts with some silver cardstock from stampin up. Quick post today as my roast is ready as we speak, and then into the craft room – I have finally caught up with orders so today is freestylin’! Til tomorrow….
Kaisercraft cottage Rose number 2
Today we start a series of cards that I made with kaisercraft cottage Rose paper collection and matching collectables.This first one is a wedding card – I used a kaisercraft die for the sentiment and die cut it from stampin up silver cardstock.( this set of kaisercraft dies are brilliant – they have anniversary, engagement, birthday and congratulations all in the one set – brilliant value).The flowers are green tara and prima,and the silver thread is stampin up. I punched the leaves with my martha stewart leaf punch. This one is a favourite of mine! I was hoping to get into the craft room and make some more cards for my boxes, but I have a few orders to do, and I am picking up my new stampin up catalogue from my sister today, so will probably spend my spare time studying it and making an extensive wish list! Graphic 45 raining cats and dogs
While I had my graphic 45 raioning Cats and dogs paper out to make the bendy card ( previous Post) I made one last card with it before putting all the leftovers into a bag for the craft fair sale. I had a couple of this image, so I used one for the base, and then cut into the second image to make some 3d layers. I added ribbon, lace and bling to finish. A day off today, shopping done, and now i am heading into the craft room to relax a bit! til tomorrow….
graphic 45 bendy card
This is a bendy card, and I made one for Mum and dad’s 60th wedding anniversary.The ladies over at the retirement village want to learn how to make them and as I had only ever made that one I thought I had better practise! I made this one using graphic 45 raining cats and dogs patterned paper, and I made it in three pieces, with tabs on the edges for attaching to the base at the sides. I have seen them done all in one piece of cardstock with the flappy bits at the sides cut to the curves, but I think it is easier to decorate the flaps if they are separate from the base. I did a bit of fussy cutting, and just added a ribbon bow to finish – this type of card doesn’t need much embellishing! Til tomorrow….
Two more fresh from my desk
I finished my orders yesterday, and here are two of them,the top card is being posted, so had to stay quite flat. I used Stampin Up botanical blooms dies and stampin up cardstock for this one, and die cut some glitter flourishes, punched a glitter butterfly, and added liquid pearls and sequins. the bottom card was much more textured with lots of flowers,more glitter flourishes, and key and ribbon bow. I am caught up with my orders now, but no crafting today, I am taking Mum out to spend her Mothers day money at Paper Flourish and we will visit spotlight too – we are on the hunt for very very fine paint brushes for dad, I found them on-line but they are very expensive and he goes through so many so we will have a look around locally.Til tomorrow….
On my desk this morning…
Cards in real time this morning! I made these this morning after I had done my housework, an early start because I have 6 orders, and I also needed a card for a friend who is celebrating her 30th birthday tonight. Her card is the top card, I drew the wine glass,and cut it out of glitter card -( this glitter card is new from Kaisercraft and it doesn’t shed glitter everywhere,feels lovely ..I like it a lot and available in so many gorgeous colours – great for xmas cards) added some sequins and ribbon bow.the other two are for an order for golf cards. Both cards are made with 3D images. I started cardmaking 10 years ago doing 3d cards, and I still have many folders of 3D sheets and they come in very handy when asked for specific cards that I may not have stamps or papers for.The top card has some white cardstock embossed with my swiss dots folder, but stuck on the card on the debossed side to mimic a golf ball.i will be off now, 2 21st cards and 2 30th cards still to do!
